Are Beans a Complete Protein?

Beans are one of the best sources of plant protein there is. However, plant protein is not a source of complete protein. Therefore, beans are combined with whole grain rice, barley, wheat or corn to provide the amino acids that are necessary to form a complete protein. Beans by themselves do not provide complete protein which is one that contains all the essential 9 amino acids in the right proportions. They lack some of the amino acids to make it a complete protein.
