Average Cost of Rubber 2011
The average cost of rubber in 2011 is $150 per pound. According to market analysts, the prices are expected to increase steadily during the year, mainly owing to low production and the general state of the global market. With the demand for rubber rising sharply in the US market, growers are contemplating a continuation of production during summer. Experts feel that natural rubber will be in deficit in 2011 for a second year and the global demand of 10.7 million tons may outpace supply by 513,000 tons. The International Rubber Study Group’s recent report on the sale of passenger car tires has indicated a 5.8 % growth in 2011.
