Football Player Salary 2011
Like in many other countries, football is the most famed sport in the US. So football players enjoy a bigger-than-life image among people and are usually paid a very high salary. No player gets the necessary recognition unless he represents in the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football. The NFL had a salary cap for the teams and players from 1994 to 2009. However, it ceased to exist since the last season after the NFL team owners decided to opt out of their Collective Bargaining Agreement with the player’s union. NFL 2011, commencing in September, will be the league’s 76th edition. A football player’s average salary in 2011 is $900,000. Salary figures are often much higher among star players, reaching well beyond seven figures.
