Head Chef Job Description
Anyone who has a serious interest in cooking has probably dreamed about becoming a head chef in a restaurant. But what is really involved with being a head chef? The head chef of many fancy restaurants actually does considerably less cooking than many of his underlings. Instead, he concentrates on creating original dishes to bolster the menu and increased the fame of the restaurant. Additionally, head chefs act much like a manager of the kitchen, keeping everything running smoothly and adding expertise were needed. However, this is not to say that a head chef has no cooking at all. Head chefs often prepare signature dishes custom to order or cook for special guests and celebrities. As for educational requirements, it takes a great deal of experience as a chef and many years in a culinary school to become a head chef, but the pay is high and the work is very enjoyable if you like to cook. However, as in most head chef job descriptions, not even a high school diploma is required if you have the expertise needed.
