How Much Does A Chicken Farmer Make Per Year? Average Chicken Farmer Salary

Chicken farmers really strive hard without looking at the clock and reap in rich benefits, particularly when the market prices shoot high. Their income may vary based on factors such as the size of the farm, their investment, and also, to some extent, the location. Many poultry farms are owned by individual farmers who sell their produce to food processing industries. Some chicken farmers concentrate mainly on egg production, whereas others produce poultry that is sold as meat. They also specialize in breeding chickens. A section of chicken farmers work under contract and are usually paid a fixed price for the broilers (meat chicken) and eggs. They also have the facility to sell their produce in the open market. The average chicken farmer salary is in the range of $20,000 to $25,000.
