Most federal agencies now require all candidates to have at least a bachelor’s degree, with preference given to those holding course certification in information technology, foreign language, medical studies and engineering. The annual salary of a federal agent is $75,000, including a 25% premium known as Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP).
