How Much Does An Archivist Make Per Year? Average Archivist Salary
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary of an archivist is $48,000. The primary job of an archivist in the US is to oversee the operators of the National Archives and Records Administration. The archivist is appointed by the President and is responsible for preserving government records, including the actual Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They are also expected to maintain custody of State Legislative ratifications of amendments to the US Constitution.
