An East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) player is generally offered a contract based on many factors such as previous performance, position and number of games played. Their salaries are normally worked out on a weekly basis unlike the NHL players who are paid for an entire season. When the weekly earnings are calculated on yearly basis, the annual average pay of an ECHL player falls in the range of $30,000 to $35,000.
