An Emergency Room physician’s average salary is $225,000 yearly. The earnings vary depending on many factors such as location, type of contract and the number of patients. ER physicians, also known as emergency physicians, provide emergency care to patients coming to hospital with different types of injuries or illnesses, including life-threatening condition. As soon as a patient enters the medical facility, he or she is directly sent to an ER physician if they are found to be suffering from severe illness. They conduct different kinds of medical tests such as X-ray and ultrasound test on patients to diagnose the exact nature of disease they suffer from. An ER physician must necessarily hold a license by the State Medical Board to practice medicine.
