Echocardiographer’s is a rewarding job that annually pays $55,000 on average. The outlook for this occupation is encouraging and promises to grow at a faster pace than the national average and many other jobs in the medical field. A majority of echocardiographers work in hospitals and others are employed by medical laboratories, imaging centers and doctor’s offices. Echocardiography technicians, or echocardiographers, work in the unit belonging to cardiovascular tehnologists. ECG techs use an ultrasound equipment to create an image of the patient’s heart. The entire process lasts not more than an hour and is non-invasive. The patients also need not have to be on fast before undergoing the procedure.
