An Editor-in-Chief’s is a highly-paid job that is full of responsibilities. They are the people who are solely responsible for the overall editorial performance of a journal as well as the look of a magazine or a newspaper, including copy and design. An Editor-in-Chief manages the entire editorial team, comprising Senior Editors, Sub-Editors and Editorial Assistants. They always have the final say in editorial affairs and are, therefore, held totally responsible for all errors that occur in the publication. They hold regular editorial meetings and review the overall situation and critics, if any. While an Editor-in-Chief’s average annual salary is $70,000, reputed publications offer a much higher pay.
