How Much Does An Ultrasonographer Make Per Year? Average Ultrasonographer Salary
An ultrasonographer earns $65,000 as average annual salary. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics has forecast a growth rate of up to 20% for the job till 2016. In the process, the steady growth may help create another 9,000 jobs. Their largest employers are general hospitals, doctors’ offices, medical labs and outpatient care centers. They are also engaged by colleges and universities in sizeable numbers. Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama and Tennessee are among the states with the highest income of ultrasonographers. Also known as diagnostic sonographers, they use sound waves to produce pictures of patients’ internal organs to assist doctors.
