How Much Does a Brigadier General Make Per Year? Average Brigadier General Salary
In the US Army, Air Force and Marine Corps, Brigadier General is a one-star General officer, with the pay grade of O-7. A Brigadier General ranks above a Colonel and below Major General, equivalent to the rank of rear admiral in the other uniformed services. Eligible officers are put to screening by a board, comprising general officers, for promotion considerations to the permanent grade of Brigadier General. They are entitled for certain allowances such as basic allowance for quarters (BAH) and food allowance, both of which are included in their salaries. The average Brigadier General salary is $87,000 a year.
