How Much Does a Pipefitter Make Per Year? Average Pipefitter Salary?
Although experience and education influence a pipefitter’s income to certain extent, it is local demand that primarily determines their earnings. According to the US Bureau Labor Statistics, a pipefitter draws an average annual salary of $50,000. A pipefitter is a skilled worker responsible for creating, assembling, installing and maintaining mechanical pipe systems. Their nature of work is quite different from that of a plumber, who also works on pipe systems. It is the building equipment contractors who employ the largest number of pipefitters. Other potential employers include utility system construction, natural gas distribution, local government and non-residential building construction.
