By doing so, you at least ensure your kids eat less of macaroni and more of other food that is healthier. Macaroni and cheese is regarded as the most popular comfort food in North America. Also, it is popular in a lot of restaurants that serve buffet-style dining. But, it really packs on the calories and therefore does not prove healthy.
