There should not be any salt in the garlic powder. Garlic powder together with some other pure spices has to be a salt free product, unless it is indicated otherwise on the label or packaging of it. So, reading the product label should warn you of getting the wrong thing. However, the traditional garlic powder recipe does not include adding any garlic powder to it.
