Mortician Job Description
No matter the changes that occur in society, morticians will always be required. This lends a great deal to job security and is something to keep in mind with today’s unstable economy. The general duties of a mortician revolve around preparation of a deceased individual for both funeral and burial. A mortician must be knowledgeable of embalming, cosmetics, clothing, and tombstone and coffin design. Morticians must not only comfort the living relatives of the deceased, but also be able to provide them with advice as to how to fulfill their wishes for a funeral within their budget. Other duties include cremation and other ceremonies, and would be listed on specific companies’ mortician job descriptions.
