Pharmacist Education Requirements
Certain educational requirements are mandatory to become a licensed pharmacist in the US. Pharmacists are health care professionals, who offer information to patients, particularly on over-the-counter medications. To become a pharmacist, one has to obtain a 4-year bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited university, while a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is needed to become a licensed pharmacist. To do these courses, a 2-year pre-pharmacy undergraduate program and passing an entrance test are conditional in many states. There are several topics that are discussed in pharmacy course such as physiology, chemistry, and drug terminology.
