Psychiatric Nurse Job Description
The general psychiatric nurse job description is providing medical assistance for patients that suffer from serious mental illnesses. A psychiatric nurse perform such specific duties as assisting their patients with hygiene, providing counseling, monitoring patient condition, restraining violent patients, administering medication, serving food, providing observations to psychiatrists and doctors, writing reports, and handling paperwork. To become a psychiatric nurse, you must complete a certification course in nursing.
