Sous Chef Job Description
There are many types of chefs in a restaurant’s kitchen, but what does a sous chef do? In the majority of sous chef job descriptions, the main duty they perform is that of management and coordination between the chefs in the kitchen and the serving personnel in the dining rooms. It is the sous chef’s job to ensure that orders are taken correctly and followed up by the chefs, as well as attend to special guests and occasions. The sous chef also ensures that the customers are happy and the kitchen staff are working efficiently. The educational requirements for becoming a sous chef involve experience in management, a culinary school education, and good communication skills.
