Star Walk for iPad App Review

Star Walk for the iPad is a neat little astronomy app that allows you to surf the stars in the palm of your hand. The first thing you’ll notice when trying this app is the excellent graphics, which really help to bring out the wonder and beauty of the night’s sky. The smoothness of animation as you manipulate your view makes for an excellent sense of grace and power. At the same time, it is also important to note a few drawbacks of the app. You cannot turn off labels and constellation lines, which can detract from the sense of immersion that might otherwise be achieved, and only 18 out of 88 constellations can be viewed as of the current version. All in all, if you are into astronomy and want to take a hand-held vacation to the stars, then this is the app for you. Overall Score: 8.5 out of 10
