What Is The Average Cost Of Kaolin Per Pound/Ton? Average Kaolin Price
Kaolinite is one of the most common minerals, mined as Kaolin in the US. It is used in ceramics, medicine, as a food additive, in toothpaste, as a light diffusing material in white incandescent light bulbs, and in cosmetics. It is the main component in porcelain. Kaolin is also used in paint, rubber and adhesives. Its largest use, however, is in the production of paper. Commercial grades of kaolin are supplied and transported as dry powder, semi-dry noodle or as liquid slurry. Kaolinite can contain very small traces of uranium and thorium and hence useful in radiological dating. It also serves in organic farming, applied as a spray to crops. The average Kaolin price is $3 per pound.
