What Is The Average Cost Of Neon Element Per Gram/Pound? Average Neon Price
Neon is a very inert element that makes about one pat per 65,000 on Earth. The gas is produced industrially by the fractional distillation of liquid air. On average, neon element costs $0.35 per gram. It is used primarily for filling lamps and luminous sign tubes. When under low pressure, neon emits a bright orange-red light if an electric current is passed through it. This property is used as neon signs, in some fluorescent and gaseous conduction lamps, and in high-voltage testers. Many airplane beacons use neon light because it can penetrate fog.
