The World of Warcraft term Soulbound is used to describe an item that can only be used by the character that it is soulbound to. Most magical items and gear (green, blue, purple, and orange) become soulbound when equipped by your character or when first picked up. A soulbound item cannot be traded to other players or mailed to your other characters, but they can still be sold to vendors.
