Anthocyanin is water-soluble vacuolar pigment. They are basically the constituent of plants. In photosynthesis tissues, anthocyanin is used to protect the plant cells from high UV light. It also gives colors to the plants. Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants. It can help greatly in curing cancer, aging and neurological diseases, inflammation, diabetes and bacterial infections. However, they can affect the nervous system and collagen due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Diabetic patients should also use it very cautiously.
