Azorubine is a salt and a red food dye. It is used in treating food after fermentation. It can help many food products to maintain their color like jam, swiss rolls, cheesecakes, jellies, yoghurts etc. There many side effects of azorubine like it can cause allergic reactions, nettle rash, skin swelling. It is not good for patients of asthma. Doctors recommend eliminating it from the eatable products. Azorubine is carcinogenic and thus can cause bladder cancer.
