Beaten rice is dehusked rice which is flattened and dried into thin dry flakes. It swell up when added to water or milk and thus it is also eaten raw by being mixed in hot or cold solutions. It is easily digestible and used to prepare snacks in many cuisines. The thinnest variety of these is the most expensive. One the benefit of beaten rice is that it is fat, cholesterol and sodium free. Thus it is beneficial for obese and hypertensive patients. It is rich in riboflavin, vitamin E, Calcium, and Magnesium.
