Many players from all races and backgrounds farm gold and sell it online. Gold farmers are notorious for operating scams to steal player accounts and strip them of their valuable items and gold. They are also known for using glitches and bots (programs that play the game automatically) to give themselves an unfair advantage in gathering funds or to advertise their website. Blizzard, the maker of WoW, frowns upon this practice and often bans these players whenever possible.
