What is in Chewing Gum? Ingredients and Uses

Chewing gum is a chewy, rubbery material that is most often chewed as a form of pleasure and to impart better breath upon the user. Chewing gum is usually created with a base of chicle, natural latex, or the man-made rubber called polyisobutylene. In addition to these, sugar and artificial flavoring is usually also added to enhance the chewer’s experience. The most common of these flavorings are mint extract and cinnamon. Besides the most popular usage of chewing gum as entertainment and a breath enhancer, chewing gum can also be used in other ways, most commonly as an adhesive.
