What is the Average Cost of Amblygonite per pound? Average Amblygonite Price

On average, amblygonite costs $1.5 per pound. It is a fluorophosphate mineral, composed of lithium, sodium, aluminum, phosphate, fluoride and hydroxide. It contains about 10% lithium. The chief commercial sources of amblygonite have historically been the deposits of California and France. Transparent amblygonite has been faceted and used as a gemstone. However, as a gemstone in jewelry, it is vulnerable to break as it lacks hardness. The US is one of the main sources for the gem material. The mineral occurs in pegmatite deposits and is easily mistaken for albite and other feldspars. It occurs with spodumene, apatite, lepidolite, tourmaline and other lithium-bearing mineral in pegmatite veins.
