What is the Average Cost of Leaving a Light On? Average Price of Leaving a Light On
Leaving any electrical appliance on continuously adds significantly to the electricity bill. Appliances such as the TV, computer and Hi-Fi system, when not turned off at the power point, can add hundreds of dollars to the average power bill. Leaving a light on for 24 hours costs approximately 20 cents a day which would amount to something between $75 to $80 per annum (if the light bulb lasted that long). Leaving lights on can be costly.
