Housing in Moscow raises the average cost of living which in most other respects is quite reasonable. A 3 bedroom apartment in the city will cost nearly $3,000a month and outside the city center it is about $900 cheaper. Food and clothing are relatively inexpensive and a monthly pass for public transport is only about $23. Basic utilities such as gas, water, electricity and garbage collection are $135 a month.
