Rwanda is a country of 10.7 million people located in central Africa. Rwanda’s 27,000 km of land area is bordered by Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania. Rwanda is entirely landlocked and considered part of the Great Lakes region of Africa. Rwanda was the scene of a terrible genocide in 1994 in which 800,000 people were killed.
