Who is Odin? Norse Mythology God Odin

You have most likely heard numerous references in pop culture and video games especially to someone called Odin. But who is he? Odin is the leader of the gods in ancient Norse mythology. He symbolizes and embodies leadership and wisdom. Odin carries a spear and rides upon his eight legged horse One-eyed OdinSleipnir. He has one eye; the other he sacrificed when he hung himself with a spear upon the great tree Yggdrasil to gain the wisdom of the ages. Odin sits in the great hall of Valhalla, awaiting the spirits of dead heroes and welcoming them into the afterlife.
