An accountant is someone who analyzes the finances of business and individuals. He or she may advice their client on their expenses and where their money should be going. Accountants are expected to report their findings and calculate not only expenses, but also taxes and the like. Most accountants work for accounting firms, accounting departments at large-scale businesses, and in government agencies. Accountants can make from $40,000 to $100,000 a year.
