Anesthesiologist Job Description
Anesthesiologists are responsible for ensuring that patients remain pain-free during surgery. Before surgery, anesthesiologists must review a patient’s medical history to determine the type of anesthetic to use. Anesthesiologists must then discuss the patient’s options with the patient. During surgery, the anesthesiologist must monitor the patient during the surgery and make any adjustments to the anesthetics that are needed. Post-surgery, the anesthesiologist is responsible for making sure the patient remains comfortable. Anesthesiologists usually work in hospitals or clinics and work erratic and long hours. Anesthesiologists make between $100,000 and $250,000 per annum.
