Electrician Job Description

Electricians take care of the electrical systems of homes and other buildings. They are responsible for installing electrical wiring, repairing any damage to the electrics and maintaining the electrical wiring in the buildings. Some electricians are self-employed, while others work for electrical contracting or construction companies. Besides homes, electricians might work in factories, electrical utility stations or on construction sites. Electricians typically works Monday to Friday, but are sometimes required to work evenings and weekends. Electricians are paid between $15 to $40 an hour.
