Forensic Autopsy Technician Job Description
A forensic autopsy technician works with the Medical Examiner’s Office when performing an autopsy. Usually there to assist a pathologist, the technician is responsible for prepping the body and performing clerical work. Forensic autopsy technicians must be comfortable around organs and bodily fluids, as well as be comfortable working with corpses. Sometimes, technicians are required to work with scientific equipment, such as a microscope, as well as be in charge of cleaning and maintaining said equipment.
