Fruit pickers are generally paid at piece rates, that is, they are paid for what they pick. Thus, it is quite difficult to estimate what could be a fruit picker’s approximate earnings. The payment depends on several factors such as the crop, area and, very importantly, how fast and how much the worker performs. As fruit pickers are usually paid on an hourly basis, they may earn up to $17,200 per year, calculated on the basis of an average pay of $10 per hour and a maximum work time of 40 hours a week.
