How much does a Songwriter make per Year? Average Songwriter Salary
A songwriter is someone who writes songs for a living. A large part of a songwriter’s income is based on royalties. A songwriter can make 9.10 cents for each unit sold, and if the writer has more than one song on the unit (CD) then he or she will make more. If the album sells really well then the songwriter can stand to make a great deal of money. If not, though, the song could net the writer a very small price. The salary of a songwriter cannot be measured, as no one is to know how well a record will fare.
