Massage Therapist Job Description
When clients are in need of pain and/or stress relief, they will often visit a massage therapist. A massage therapist uses his or her hands to massage the client’s muscles and reduce pain and stress. A massage therapist may also use other types of therapies, such as heat, cold or light therapy. Massage therapists work in many types of establishments, such as health clubs, clinics, nursing homes, hospitals and spas. Massage therapists can make as little as $15,000 a year or as much as $70,000 a year, depending on the number of hours worked and the type of establishment that the therapist works at.
