Pharmacist Job Description

The duties of a pharmacist include filling prescriptions, instructing patients on how and when to take their medication, discussing the side effects with the patient, and supervising pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists usually work for establishments such as retain stores, hospitals and drug manufacturing companies, among others. Pharmacists must wear gloves and masks at times and occasionally work with dangerous substances or products. Pharmacists usually work a 40-hour work week, with some evening and weekend work. Pharmacists can make between $50,000 and $150,000 a year.
