Podiatrist Job Description
Podiatrists treat and diagnose injuries and diseases of the foot. Some of the common ailments which podiatrists help with are calluses, corns and infections. Podiatrists are also responsible for plastering casts for broken bones, designing braces and straps for foot deformities, as well as prescribing medications. For the most serious of ailments of the foot, podiatrists will perform surgery. While some podiatrists work for hospitals or clinics, the majority are self-employed and work 40 hours a week. Podiatrists can make anywhere from 45,000 to $150,000 a year.
