A police detective is in charge of investigating a crime by taking pictures, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Sometimes, detective will go undercover to observe a possible suspect. This line of work is highly dangerous and stressful. Police detectives can make anywhere from $70,000 to $100,000, with an average salary of roughly $90,000.
