Professional NFL Football Referee Job Description
The job of a professional NFL football referee can at times be challenging and stressful and at other times rewarding and exhilarating. Fans of the sport might believe this to be a dream job, but it can be demanding. Referees must study the rules of the game thoroughly and must stay up-to-date with any changes in the sport. Referees must also remain fair and consistent, handle high-pressure situations and make calls that are highly stressful to make. Referees are required to travel a great deal during the season during away games. A NFL football referee salary can be anywhere between $25,000 and $70,000 per season.
