Garage door openers are used by many homeowners. The average cost of a garage door opener depends on the type of opener. For example, an opener which uses a chain drive will cost roughly $150. The downside of this type of garage door opener is that the metal chain is rather noisy. Another type is a screw drive garage door opener. This type costs, on average, $200. Finally, the belt drive garage door opener, is the most expensive at an average of $250, but is the quietest option.

There's one thing i can say, you get what you pay for on your openers for garage doors. Great post by the way.
